I picked up a Dutch 3 speed last week, as a resto project - a brand named Den Haag (can't find squat about it online)
The BB is one i've never seen before - the whole thing spins, the bearings run direct in the frame, and there's a large nut to adust them on the outside. The outer cups spin. there's only one cotter pin, the chainwheel and crank arm on the drive side are one piece.
As you can see, the flat for the cotter is stuffed - I am going to build it up with weld and then profile it, unless anyone has any other ideas?
The large hex in the 2nd pic is the cone the bearings run on. .

can't see the pics... from your description, it sounds like it may be a similar to an older style Thompson BB..Video link below, which may or may not help :

Abbotsford Cycles have cotter pins in stock, the common 9,5mm and the other one, whatever size that is, so you can avoid the weld up/file down job. I vaguely remember that someone does a push-fit square taper BB for these things, I don't think they're cheap or overly common but they do exist..Velo Orange maybe ? Would help you adapt a more modern crankset to the bike, maybe even giving you some chainring options..micky2shoes wrote:bl00dy marvellous - that's the thing!!

sadly the flat on the crank is no longer flat, looks like it's been ridden with loose cotters - so i think weld'n'file is still needed.
I did find a push fit BB for it, might go down that road - all i have to do is get the old ones out...
praise the lord and pass the big hammers!!
