All, first nights training in ages doing a 3 up sprint (all old blokes!) at the Kenrick Tucker Velodrome. I'm only on a 48/15 gear (86.4) at the moment and will step it up soon.

"Ripping" around on my new Pro-Lite Trentino GP thanks to jacks1071!

Love track!

Cheers

You road a pretty good line there Brades, in the sprint. You didn't drift around much.

Not Youtube but faceplant and I don't know how to make it visible to people without an account. :(

This finish by Danny Clark will give you goose bumps!

8)

Now for what you did wrong. Just helping.

To long a turn on the front.
When the rider that gets away peels up, unless you have plenty in the tank, you do the same.
On the final two laps it would seem they were sucking on you plus you attacked the bloke to early and in the wrong place. You should have taken a run at his back wheel and then kicked around him hard and fast coming out of the bend instead of being up high.
The gaps between the riders was to big to.

Hehe, yep all things I need to work on thanks Foo.
Def too much time on the front!... but I don't mind, it only makes me stronger for next time.
The rider who keeps attacking can't be given a gap, so I am always quick to cover his moves no matter where I am positioned, i'm one of the stronger ones in that bunch so feel somewhat obliged to chase him :)
I think the guy who won didn't pull a turn on the front, so that tells you something. The next one will play out differently ;)

I've seen crotch-cam movies before, but never on a velodrome :)

Good to see you've gotten the bug. Hopefully you can head inside for winter track season.

The smallest gap to close is the easiest gap to close

FTFY

Make sure you learn the lessons of racing. Keep an eye on people like that so they don't do it often and get away with it. As a sprinter type, I do like to at least take a turn which gets the target off my back somewhat. Learn how to counter freeloaders to either make them work or box them in. The records don't show how much work you did at the front, they just say 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc.

Good result though.
