Unless it gets demolished first and then they have to spend money building another one. Aside from football (Rugby League) events, I don't think there is much appetite for any hosting of major sporting events like the Commonwealth Games.

Has there been any resolution thus far in the funding of DGV?

Hosting such games comes with massive costs, skews investment away from things that matter and would be a crummy way to secure DGV's future.

As for the local member's statement in Hansard about importance of keeping ownership local, the Bankstown Sports club doesn't want it.

So the idea is to let everything go to rack and ruin and then whinge about how we don't have facilities for racing? :roll:
