Who was there today? I saw Alex Simmons down there with one of the Bicisport teams but its such a long day that people are constantly coming and going.
There was truckloads of Masters teams and decent entries for the Women as well. Only 2 x U17 teams and just 1 x U19 team! Thats a bit dismal IMO.
It was windy, as usual but warmer than last year and due to road works the course was shortened a little, 36-37km per lap (2 laps for elite men). Tailwind coming home made it pretty quick on the return leg. Unfortunately I started my GPS late but I think we did about 56min. I know my team was off the pace (Masters all age) a little but cant find official results yet. Feel free to add a link, otherwise I'll post it up as soon as I find them.

Excellent and painful day out as usual. The wind was probably a bit stronger than last year making the way out very hard and the return very fast. We managed 1:04 averaging 34km/h which is a bit faster than last year's average. We made sure this year to stay together even though two of us were on the limit on the climb going out which I think helped a lot on the way back being able to share the load all the way home.
One year we'll do that without the headwind! It would be interesting to see whether that makes us faster or slower.
Oddly I got the speed wobbles twice on the way back when we hit 60+ km/h and I got a gust from the side. The same thing happened last year in the Handicap race the day after the TTT. This is probably the only time I've done these kinds of speeds in windy conditions so something about the bike or the way I'm riding it is prone to setting up the wobble. It freaked me out a bit but I managed to recover and get back up to speed.

We had a busy day with 8 teams from our small club, with a manager and support car for each team. Our women won the masters and masters mens came 4th in both the all age and 150+ categories. My lads had a great ride, did a 52 minute something ride and missed podium by 7 seconds. They were hitting 80km/h at points on way back with the 55x11 getting a hammering.
We make a club event of it each year and we all stay in same hotel and have a club dinner. We also do scheduled TTT training for the whole club for a couple of months before.

Our club had 12 teams entered (from our large club), the most from any club! Excellent effort from bici for getting 8 together especially with support cars. Our elites got 5 th, our best result of the day I think.
Had a good chat to kev fisher (chief commissar). Didn't spot Alex Simmons but did spot loads of bike porn. You feel a little inadequate with all that hot looking carbon around!
We had the best finishing time of a team of 3 in our category which is some concellation and are chuffed being the fastest masters team from our club. However, we were nowhere near the podium, we have a long way to go to achieve that!
