Attended the NSW State Masters Road Championships over the weekend and competed in Monday's time trial. Actually beat someone which was a pleasant surprise for the first time out. Was so shattered at the finish that I spent a minute dry-retching which wasn't so pleasant and I guess shouldn't have been a suprise .
Came home with a list of To Dos:
1. More miles required in the legs. 100km per week commuting and another 40km on the rollers isn't going to cut it against this bunch.
2. More race practice essential. Calga here I come.
3. Lower bar position necessary. My current one is high, comfortable, and slow.
4. Aero wheels needed. Virtually everyone racing had deep carbon rims and there were disk rears everywhere. My alloys are pretty good for climbing, but did me no favours on the descent, maxing out at 55kph.

Bravo! I'd suggest getting a heart rate monitor as well to help with pacing and training. Power meters are great and all but Jen's are cheap as chips these days.
