Back to commuting, back to a job
How far can we go down the M2 now? Is it still Pennant Hills Road, then take the Official alternate route? Is there a better way? I will have 26kms each way, really need to get some good pace for training

Yup, you still have to exit at Pennant Hills Rd inbound, but the good news is they are almost done with the repairs near browns waterhole. The big crane came down last month. The section from Lane Cove Rd to Delhi Rd opened last month too, so iris just that one section that we're waiting for.Xplora wrote:Back to commuting, back to a job

Going outbound you can ride the M2 all the way from Delhi Rd.

From the Pennant Hills Rd exit off the M2, the official detour is the fastest route. Cross straight over onto the SUP on the eastern side of PH Rd, follow it to the end and duck through the hole in the noise barrier to Murray Farm Rd, then join the official route. No need to ride all the way up to community centre.Xplora wrote:Official alternate the best one??

I hate that, always feel like there is something better out there, what do they know? Humph
I know I am pumping for info here, any idea on the time difference for peak hour vs other times? How about general safety if you are pushing? I'm planning on chucking a power meter onto the commuter and doing HIIT on the way, but I recall Agincourt and most of those roads inbound to be pretty insane most of peak hour?
I get a feeling I will have to upgrade the sunnies sooner rather than later as well, the spec savers reading glasses aren't so great for speedy head checks crossing the exit lanes on the M2.
I am feeling a dry run later this week will be in order.

Dry run went ok today, seems like the section between Ray Rd and Agincourt is the hard bit. TT down the M2 was pretty intense too

Btw watch out for the magpie that has just set up residence at the top of Pembroke Rd, just as you cross Epping Rd at the lights before the climb up to Agincourt.Xplora wrote:Dry run went ok today, seems like the section between Ray Rd and Agincourt is the hard bit. Make sure you have good tyres too, there is a high amount of glass on the M2 at the moment.

Rode home a week ago on the race bike, very easy route.
Rode in today, 30 minutes longer but it was fully laden on the commuter and it's much more uphill. Fortunately, the run between Ray Road and Delhi Road wasn't very complicated at all.
Maggie REALLY wanted me going down Murray Farm Road

He's a nasty one. I avoid him completely when heading in to work by riding Pennant Hills Rd and left onto North Rocks Rd.Xplora wrote:Rode home a week ago on the race bike, very easy route.
