Ox - well done on bringing up 5000km for the year - up till 2 years ago I used to think that 5000 km was a good year. This challenge and the joy of riding has me now thinking 6000 km is a good year and 7000 km is better. Hope those number continue to go north along with the waist line going in.oxonabike wrote:Did and upload this morning (desperate attempt to keep ahead of Gretaboy) and noticed you regained No. 1 possy again.jasonc wrote:and my time at the top lasted 1 ride. Andre has me by 20kms.. this week is going to be a bit light on for commuting kms
so he'll probably have me by 80kms or so by the end of the week.

Thanks Westy, noticed I'd crept over the 5 K mark when a did a quick peek at the positions yesterday (all this pressure!)westab wrote: Ox - well done on bringing up 5000km for the year - up till 2 years ago I used to think that 5000 km was a good year. Got a very hilly 33km commute home last night - this might become regular Tuesday and Thursday event with some of the other lads getting some three peaks training in after work. It gives another dimension to commuting for someone who normally does it solo, to have a few mates along for the ride. Gets pretty competitive too. Now might have to adjust the 'graph' to see where the catch points have ended up - after Sunday when Gretaboy does his upload.

The next month is going to be really light on km for me - have too many late night calls lined up, and then a week in Perth and another in Germany, so I think we'll be pretty even after your 3 weeks R&R in Melbournejasonc wrote: yeah I got it back last night. Andre obviously didn't commute yesterday (or today?)

I don't know if I'd call it R&R. I'm organising a ride or two with Shane Miller (TW may know who he is)AndreB1972 wrote:so I think we'll be pretty even after your 3 weeks R&R in Melbourne
the middle sunday i'm doing the dandenongs with a group of guys from the whirlpool cycling forum.
just no commuting...
though thinking about it, i won't have a car so the only way for me to get around will be bike

Am now commuting 6 days a week (to Little A's on Saturday) - so hope to be able to get the 200km each week to the end of the year. Looking forward to watching the kids run; and the good weather that spring often brings.

You certainly pulled out some big kms in the last few weeks, time for me to get out of my rut, methinks...jasonc wrote:so as i go into 3 weeks off, my lead is just shy of 400kms.
Don't forget to give me a yell when you have some time while you're down here!

Ahhhhh there is not much remaining - target 7000km for the year 1367km to go (171 per week) this is going to hurt. But still be fun.jasonc wrote:last day of work for me will be the 18th of december. so i have ~8 weeks of commutes. (I also have to reach my climbing target by then too)
The good news is that I have been using the folding bike on Wednesdays since May and hadn't been adding the kms to swimming and work in so I have nearly 350 km (I think - will check its computer soon) to add for the year - I might just add them in slowly over the next few weeks so as not to have a big jump. Wonder where I will finish up

Just add them in one go mate...make the "final straight" run fun for all, we all know your going to be adding 350 or so now anywayswestab wrote:

Doing the Newcastle to Dungog ride tomorrow and hoping to put in a big effort....200 for the day, if I do it will be my first 200 ever...not too shabby for a cripple lol. The actual ride is 85-90k I believe but am planning to ride/trike back also.
Am slowly building the leg strength back up so may have a big "final straight" run..keep Ox and Robinho honest
