Short Commutes

Postby hartleymartin » Sun Oct 19, 2014 2:04 am

I've started some of my regular commuting by bicycle again. I live only 1km from my College, so I hope on my old Raleigh Twenty to get there and back between classes. 3 speeds with coaster brake, and a basket supported from the front axle do quite well. I took a load of small firewood home in that front basket for the brazier. The basket usually carries just a few books. I'll get around to fitting a few essentials soon. Hand-grips are a must! I recently put on a 48t chainring and put the original 15t sprocket back on, although I may change the chainring to a 46t biopace if I can find one. I had a spare 44t biopace somewhere in my mother's garage, but couldn't lay my hands on it! I would like to eventually fit either an 8 or 11 speed hub on this and kit it out for touring, but it's not a high priority at the moment.
