We are getting down to 4c, heavy rain and strong winds... yesterday I could see the city lights from home so didnt take rain gear...got soaked and this morning I grabbed rain gear but Di2 battery was flat... Charged it on Friday night so something is draining it...went back home and changed bikes.
1 Day left of work although I may come back on Friday to finish my last 2 weeks work...

Cancan left you a message on your ride on Strava. I have read ideas about how to problem solve a "leak"
Still no access to the bike cage at work

Heard the familiar tick tick of a spoke hitting something each rotation - nope it was a 2" nail sticking out of the marathons. Threw it in a nearby bin & all was good again.

Chain your bike to the building managers desk, have someone else complain that you haven't had a shower

Bad news. Card works for bike cage and showers but not for my floor. The Saga continues
Wet roads and drizzle in

Fly6ce failed. Wouldn't turn on. 2nd rear light died 5kms from home
Support call logged with cycliq
Had a puncture, valve core came out, then I couldn't get the valve core out of the flexihose. Thankfully a mate pulled up and I used his co2 dispenser and was on my way

Fahrvergnugen cold 2.3 degrees when I left this morning. Thermals, thick fleece jersey and merino balaclava stuff. I also achieved a personal-worst time and I guess it's because my legs were frozen

There's some non bike related stuff too. It's ok. I'm still standing, healthy-ish, have a job and my wife hasn't stopped me buying bike bits, yet.

Funny thing on commute to work this morning.

Turned right to Westbourne street from Crystal st at Petersham, and was passed by a Car who seems in a hurry, but there was some road work ahead that blocked the street where the driver need to stop, but I as a cyclist was let to cycle through.

+1 thing to make drivers fume about cyclists

Somehow I ended up leading a bunch of about 4-5 other cyclists along the Koonung Creek Trail heading home today. I don't normally do that (because I'm just a middle-aged guy who rides a 16kg touring bike to and from work), but today I just decided to see how far I could lead them, and pushed myself to stay at the front of them all. After about 6-7km or so, I was just about to give up and wave them past, when one of them said "Thank you VERY much", and they all turned right off the path (and I breathed a stealthy sigh of relief! :) ).

Much better than the poor bloke running toward me on Iron Cove Bridge - he went down hard, face first. I thought he had tripped over his own feet, but hiding in the shadows was a box. Blood all over his face but his friends turned up so I left it to them

School hols so I get to cycle commute for the full week, not just 2 days.
Monday was dirt day. Took the MTB 'up and over'. Enjoyed that despite not having a lot of extra time to detour.
Yesterday was fixie day. Gained 2 CCR points passing two roadies on the way to work. Was in a bit of a hurry for an early start. On the way home I stopped by the car parts place to pick up an order, but the box was a lot bigger and heavier than expected so I raced home and drove back to pick it up right on closing time.
This morning was flat bar roadie day and a morning detour around the place because it's Council cleanup week and there have been a few half decent bikes around lately because scrap prices are down. Managed to find a set of car ramps so stashed them in the bushes for later pickup.
Which bike tomorrow? Fixie, Fatty, Dually, (Flat bar) Roadie, Oldie...

Cold this morning, got to work a Garmin still said it was only 9ÂșC, that was in our basement parking area. But no real drama.

This afternoon was good - even extended my commute by 10km. Went past a family with kids, one of their young sons (probably only 5 I guess) was like "wow" as I went past. He thought my bike was about the coolest thing ever. So I stopped on the way back and chatted to the parents and let young kid have a look at my bike.

Not much to do, but maybe it's good some good PR.

Well, it's the 7th commute for the week. Day 4, bike 4. What to ride tomorrow?

Yes, it was quite a surprise- it rolled in very quickly. If I had stopped at the nearby train station I might have remained dry. Light hail too.

Today was alright. Left late this morning and rode fast to make up for it.

Welcome to the club

Details? Operator error or did someone pull out in front of you?

I had my first stack the very first time I ever test rode them. The bike store's test pedals were cranked up so tight I couldn't unclip and down I went right in front of the guy :D

Commuted to strathfield from home then strathfield to home for and after mtbing in the blue mountains, If only the T3 line were much faster connecting to T2 or T1 line in sydney trains, The trains to lidcombe were so slow, Im faster on my MTB from Lakemba to strathfield rather than taking the train.
