RideWithGPS Question

Hello all.

I have created a map/route on 'RidewithGPS' that I want to write the GPX file to Garmin Connect.

Is paying money to subscribe the only way to achieve this with this software?

Do you want to load into Garmin Connect or get into onto your Garmin device?

The reason I ask, what I normally do to get onto my Garmin 520 is export from RidewithGPS as TCX and then load directly onto the device through the USB connection into the NewFiles folder. Which then loads into Courses.

I'm not sure how to load a course into Garmin connect, as a GPX or any other format for that matter.

Why do you prefer TCX over GPX?

I'm not 100% sure of the differences between TCX & GPX - but had a funny feeling to get the turn-by-turn navigation needed to use TCX, and then have just kept using it. Alas, just a creature of habit ... if it ain't broke don't fix it!

You don't need a subscription to export a route.
