BNA losers club - 2015

Postby singlespeedscott » Thu May 28, 2015 8:16 pm

It doesn't take long to build up. Just break it into portions of 60.

I have been doing versions of this routine for the last 25 years.

May was no good to me, I got sick with a chest infection and gave into tempation more than what is acceptable.

Code: Select all

      Jan    Feb    Mar    Apr    May
2015  105.7  102.9  99.6   99.1   100.3
A bit annoyed with myself, anyway I will just get back onto the wagon and get back into it.

Advice? I'm not keen on the cycling body with huge legs and skinny arms. My legs are already big and arms are nto scrawny but on the smaller side. Problem is I can't cycle half as well as my cycling physique looks!
I have a profoundly disabled 9 year old daughter.

She doesn't walk.

She's only a bit over 20kg, but moving her from bed to wheelchair to change table to shower chair to standing frame is enough upper body workout to keep me from developing chicken arms :-D

[quote="singlespeedscott"]31/12/14 - 79kg

01/02/15 - 78kg

05/03/15 - 76.8kg

30/03/15 - 76.6kg

03/05/15 - 75.2kg;

04/06/15 - 76.5kg - I need to cut my portion sizes down. The problem is that I snack to much if I do. Another problem is that on the days I don't ride, which was a quite a lot last month, I eat to much.

My starting point this year:

1/1/15: 90.4kg

1/2/15: 85.8kg
1/3/15: 86.9kg
2/4/15: 91.3kg
1/5/15: 90.5kg
1/6/15: 91.3kg

Target 79.9kg.

It's groundhog day. I didn't manage to cut out the snacking in May, but I did manage to buy a pair of these. Commuting through June is now possible in some degree of comfort.

Onwards and upwards (or downwards in this case hopefully).

To 79.9kg, and beyond!!!!!

Rather than cutting _meal_ sizes down, try loading your plate up with low-energy-density veggies. Fill yourself up with greens and carrots and stuff.

With a big meal in your guts, you might not be so desperate to snack... and when you add the numbers up, the energy content in a tonne of green veg hardly rates against the energy content in a single biscuit. Or slice of bread. Or deep fried mars bar. Or whatever it is you're snacking on if you don't feel sated.

^ This. Or next up is fruit, then starches and grains. See the post below for more info.

Not that I can talk, I put on weight last month. :oops: I'll try to think a bit more about what I eat this month.

Code: Select all

Age: 47
Weight: 64.3 kg (New) Goal: WHtR < 0.430
Height: 173 cm Start weight: 82 kg (Oct 2013)
C-W-H:  96 - 74 - 91 cm           Diet: Strict vegetarian. (WFPB)
WHtR =  0.428  (prev  0.425)      Weekly Av: < 100 km / < 4 hrs (All reasonably fast paced)
WHpR =  0.813 (prev 0.821)        Other act: < 2 hrs (body weight training / stretching )
BMI  =  21.5 (prev 20.7)
         Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun Jul Aug Sep Oct Nov Dec
  2015:  65.5                    62    64.3
Interesting thing is that my WHtR went up, but my WHpR went down as my hip measurement increased more than my waist. One reason why I believe WHpR is an ineffective health measure for women.

A little weight lost this month with a bit more activity. Diet is still shockingly bad. It's working I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I am a slave to the commute also. So much easier and more enjoyable than watching and calorie counting every morsel that enters my mouth. I really enjoy my food.
The exercise positively effects my mood too.

1/6/15: 91.3kg
1/7/15: 90.3kg

Target 79.9kg.

Some progress again this month, I'm 100g down on where I was six months ago.

This month is no snack food month, once I finish the three Tim Tams left in the packet I started last night.

On the upside even though weight loss is slow, I've brought my PB for 5km down from 26:28 to 24:20 this month.

Eating 5000kcal - 6000kcal p/day for last ~4 weeks and holding steady at 68kg,
95% plant based high carb low fat moderate protein, recovery is insanely good considering my work and training load, power is on the rise across the board slowly but surely. Slowly getting back to my best and hopefully surpass it.

Just been away and ate out= Steak, chicken parmy and pasta. Back to work tonight and back on the wagon. Longer commute and healthier food.
