Treating a Saddle Sore

I used to use rubbing alcohol as a preventative in racing days gone by. You've never felt burning pain as bad as when it is over vigorously splashed on the gonads. Yeeeeeeiiiiiikes it stings.I still remember running around the house, head down, arse up, butt naked wafting a towel around trying to get the alcohol to evaporate as fast as possible. Only made that mistake once.

Yeah it did make your eyes the size of dinner plates!

Easy, apply deep heat to legs and if you get too close it will find it's way on somehow.... But I now find skins work even better than deep heat and none of the side affects

If you rub it on your legs it will find a way to more tender spots

Nothing surfaced or came to a head over the weekend so off to the chemist this morning for a tub of Magnaplasm and a pack of dressings.
Slopped a thick layer of the gunk on the dressing and stuck it on. Will wait and see what happens.

mine took a few weeks to appear but id been battling with it for over a month (i actually kinda forgotten about it until it became tender again - although i did stop riding for a few weeks too) and then bam. ooze. *vom* but glad its gone!

Jeez I hope so. Just as well I'm still on holidays. I've been waddling around the house all day like a duck. Not because it hurts, but it takes a thick layer of Magnaplasm and a large dressing to hold it all in place, it feels like a nappy.

This stubborn little bugger formed months ago but reduced in size and pain to just a hard pea sized lump well below skin that I also forgot about till it flared up again. When I think about it, it has come and gone several times over the last thirty-odd years.

By now I was hoping to report on a massive, ceiling height pus eruption, voluminous flows of blood and gore, flashing lights and sirens, paramedics, doctors, nurses, helicopters, policemen, rescue workers, intensive care, the whole catastrophe, but sadly, no. The State of Victoria is safe this summer from me and my pimple. Vesuvius is once again a gentle, sleeping giant for what might be another thirty years.
Three days of Magnoplasm and some cowardly little jabs with the splinter probe has produced naught. It has subsided deeper down and reduced in size and shape to that of a chocolate Smarty and seems to be getting smaller of its own accord.
What an anticlimax.
Bought a tube of Bepanthen the other day and went for my first ride in about ten days today. No pain, felt good after a decent rest and also met Avroncotton from the forum. It's been a good day, but sorry to disappoint everyone.

I'd been struggling with saddle sores for since October last year.
They finally cleared up after having 3-4 weeks of much reduced time in the saddle (post rib fractures).
I also use moisturizer on that skin on all longer rides now, which seems to reduce irritation.

I get these things fairly regularly unfortunately.

Managed by hitting them with the kids sudocrem after riding and before bed and popping if possible.

Popping the buggers stings like mad though...real eye watering pain!
