I ate McDonalds
Postby mikesbytes » Tue May 27, 2014 10:11 pm
What was interesting was that I felt satisfied having eaten it but an hour later I was hungry again, so it would seem that it was too HiGi

It tastes pretty good. The food manufacturers put a lot of science into making sure that it interacts to give pleasure while your eating it but to have the pleasure go away quickly so you have to go back for moreDavidS wrote:What's it like?

You could sub the chips for the salad and the soft drink for black coffee or water. That should bring down the calorie intake to a level suitable for a highly active cyclistim_no_pro wrote:Having jumped off that bandwagon recently, a McSpicy is one of the few things that makes me want to go get macca's. On the flipside, I have very little doubt if I ate it now I would feel average afterwards.

Im confident I would be obese now if I didnt change my dietary choices. I love food too much to calorie restrict and I prefer eating over cycling.

My story is that I have not eaten Hungry Jacks since August 1999. A chicken burger and onion rings made my violently ill. I have never gone back and never will. Their burgers are not always better.

So..... KFC for dinner tonight it was. GLW was out at a work function, junior_no_pro had been behaving herself and asked nicely for chippies for dinner with daddy, which we haven't done for ages. And apart from the significant amount of excess salt (been so long I forgot to tell them to go easy on it), it was unhealthily goodLizzy wrote:I ate KFC a couple of months ago.
Disregarding the fact I had an entire days worth of calories for dinner of course

My story is that I haven't been to Maccas since 1980. There's plenty of better food out there. My daughter has been to Maccas but not until she was 16 and not with us. My partner has never been to Maccas!

I honestly cant say that was the case in this instance. I didn't even consider eating again after dinner last night, which is unusual for me.mikesbytes wrote:Exactly, food that is laced with sugar that makes it taste good and you feel good for a short time afterwards. Then you feel hungry again

In a way I agree with you that 1000 kcals should full you up no matter where it comes from, even of you feel sick. My personal theory on this is that all the sugar makes you spike and all the salt makes you very thirsty... So you start to crave very quickly when the blood sugar levels start dropping and you mistake your thirst for hunger ( pretty common problem ) ... So you eat again.anttismo wrote:I reckon that's a myth. Not the buns full of sugar - that' seems true, but eat 1000 Cal at maccas and I don't feel hungry shortly after. I feel normal. That's a good point. I think sometimes people do mistake thirsty for hungry and eat when they really need to drink. To test, all you need to do is have a big glass of water. If your hunger goes away, you were thirsty, not hungry. I wish I could remember to do this.toolonglegs wrote:In a way I agree with you that 1000 kcals should full you up no matter where it comes from, even of you feel sick.
