A tough 48 weeks
Postby Paul B » Mon Jun 16, 2014 1:08 pm
Went for my first ride today, 15kms... the drop in my red blood cell count rendered me totally out of breath, but still, nice to be out there. Massive drop from my 300km weekly average
Hopefully after the 4 week lead in period my numbers will be up and the Docs will give me the OK to continue treatment for the full 48 weeks.

Go easy on yourself and do what you can even if some days it's only getting out to feel the sun on your face. If possible try to have a laugh about it and keep in mind it ain't for ever. It can be a mixed bag but worth the effort and it gradually gets easier with time.
Regards,
Andy

However... I"m stronger than ever on the bike and have 7,500 kms ytd. Maybe another 12 months and I will be fully recovered. Who knows. But at least I'm able to commit heaps of time to riding and rest. Feeling very positive !!!

Following treatment I could barely ride I was so impacted by the 12 months of horror show chemo like drugs. However.... persisted consistently, and Saturday just gone.... This.
