Another incident whilst ironing a shirt naked was particularly painful too.

What did the doctors say about riding, i.e. do you need to take care / take it slow or is your injury not affected by riding.

Good advice for others, unless you hear the doctor utter the words "never seen one of those before" or "never seen that before", they have seen it all... and pain is temporary.

the doc in the ED was relaxed and said "riding shouldn't bother it" - and she was right. i went back to my GP the next week as I had some irritation and thought it may be infected, and he told me to not ride. but it turned out it wasn't infected and i ignored his advice after training for 3 months for the Tour of Bright.

A guy I worked with didn't come into work one day. A couple of days later he shows up walking like Rooster Cogburn. We all thought he'd had the snip, but it turns out they actually CAN break and it was apparently very messy as in he thought he was going to die from loss of blood.

Thats the best bit

I have had a fair few catheters up there. I have been knocked out when they put them so i dont know what they are like going in. But mine go all the way into my bladder and when taking them out there is no general and your wide awake. First time the nurse told me don't worry people say this doesn't hurt, they all say it is just a bit of discomfort. Shen then extracted it in an smooth but purposeful manor and had a good chuckle while i wriggled around in the chair for a minute or so.

Truth be told i believed her and relaxed a lot which made it better and it was more of an intense discomfort than an outright pain but its a terrible feeling of vulnerability sitting legs apart, old fella and bladder on one side of tube tug-of-war. nurse with firm grip on the other side, thinking, holy sheet, surely there has to be a better way of doing this.
