the whole theory on when to train is partly related to hormones in the body, and how they work together, thus causing less catabolism (muscle breakdown) more for strength atheletes but for a cyclist is still good data.
Aussies found the ratio between Morning vs Evening was slighter better in the evening, less spikes in Cortisol (remember Cort is high in Morning/Lunch time) but Test is also highest in Morning.
Do what you find works best, we are talking small gains to be had. I personally find I am quite stronger at night (evening 5pm etc) then in the morning.

I experienced the high heart rates and hormones that tg mentioned ...but then again, its not on Strava so it probably didnt happen
I missed out - away on work atm....need to wait another 4 days....may need to keep squeezing the bar tight....
