Hamstring Twinge

Postby Newcastle Dave » Fri Feb 13, 2015 9:39 am

I woke last Sunday with pain in my left butt going down into the back of my left thigh. The pain in the glut seems to have disappeared but I am still suffering slight pain and tightness down my hamstrings. Riding doesn't seem to trouble it, but walking more than a couple of hundred metres brings on the pain.

I had been for a short group ride on the Saturday morning, that included one "sprint" sitting on around 40+ km/hr (I would normally sit on around 30), and can only assume that's when I did it (although I didn't feel any pain then or Saturday afternoon._

My question is, given that I am not feeling any pain during my 20 k commute, am I likely to be doing it any further damage or slow the healing by continuing to ride (my 40 Km round trip commute and maybe a 60 - 70 km slow weekend ride. I am not planning to do the group ride for a week or two)

Sounds more likely back related?
