Butesin Pictrate

Postby Mike Ayling » Sat Dec 26, 2015 6:33 am

Can any pharmacist who has been in the trade for some length of time tell me why this product is no more?

It was a great analgesic for burns, sun burn, abrasions etc.

I was able to google a number of threads bemoaning its absence both here and in Canada but nobody seemed to know why it is no longer on the shelves.

What is the next best thing currently on the shelves?

Abbott Pharmaceuticals withdrew it from the market because it didn't sell enough.
(I actually rang them and asked why it was no longer available - brilliant stuff for treating burns and available OTC to boot)

There is no OTC equivalent that I can recommend.
