Registering for Coast2Coast - Medical conditions

Postby khendar » Wed Feb 15, 2017 9:31 am

I'm planning on registering for Coast2Coast this year. On their registration form it asks for medical conditions they need to be aware of. I have mild asthma which is managed with medication. I also have mild ITP (Immune thrombocytopenic purpura). The gist of ITP is I have a low platelet count. Its not severe, its not Haemophilia: I don't bruise spontaneously or bleed for hours after minor nicks, but it does mean I get the occasional nosebleed and could be problematic if I get into a severe crash.

I plan on discussing this with my GP first, but I was wondering if, from everybodies experience, this is something that should go down on the Registration Form, or is it something that may preclude me from entering the ride altogether?
