I bought some compression recovery tights. I am surprised at the results.
- reduced swelling.
- reduced pain after a ride (putting them on straight after).
- no dizzy spells squatting, sitting --> standing, etc (that is, I assume, the return blood flow assistance).
- general well-being feel.

I got some compression wear on the advice of my doctor, allegedly to reduce swelling after having a stent put in. They made no difference at all to my leg, so I stopped wearing them. Yes, my left leg is slightly larger than my right leg now, but it seems this is not swelling, it is just how it is after my DVT. The underlying issue is fixed.

If you think about trombosis and the positive effect of compression stockings in preventing clots, while this is not necessarily or specifically a cycling sports ailment, there is a very real result.
Not sure that compression is entirely black or white.

Compression stockings only prevent venous thrombosis in situations where there is significant stasis of blood flow - operations, being immobile in bed, paralysis et al. There is no evidence that wearing them during flying lowers the risk of clots, but it seems logical.
So I'm not sure compression wear will prevent me from getting a DVT while cycling.

I was having painful calves, legs not paddocks, which long compression socks seem to help avoid. As a side benefit I am a rebel breaking rules both UCI & velominati.
Sure any benefit could be the placebo effect, but whatever

I am certain there will be studies out there, probably check first if they were sponsored by 2XU or Skinsuit... but it would be interesting to see which factors they can accurately compare.
