Postby Thoglette » Sat Aug 19, 2017 4:15 pm

BWA recently ran a member survey and the results (sort of) and resulting priorities are listed here
BWA wrote: 9 August 2017 - In a recent online survey, our members and social media followers were asked to identfy what they consider to be the priorities to make riding easier and safer throughout the State.

A summary of the main responses is as follows:

Infrastructure - Dedicated bike paths and lanes, connected routes, infrastructure - 44.8%
Road Safety - Safety, driver and rider education, in-school bike education, legislative change (Minimum Passing Distance, reduced speed limits) - 28.6%
End of Trip Facilities - Secure bike parking, showers, lockers - 8.6%

Other comments/topics included better integration of facilities across council boundaries, explanation of transport revenue and expenditure, discussion on helmet laws, more promotion of the benefits of cycling and ways to normalise 'everyday' bike riding.

Interesting how an online news article can remove the susbtance of an original article and reduce it to cliches.
