Australian Cyclists Party
· News: It's time for Reason.
The Australian Cyclists Party will contest the next Federal Election by supporting Reason.
Chaotic conditions in Canberra, changes to electoral laws and the need for a rational and unencumbered voice in politics means it is time for like-minded parties to band together to maximise our chances for electoral success through a new, forward-looking party focused on a better future for all Australians. Reason will provide us with this opportunity.

Australian Sex Party to become the Reason Party

The Australian Sex Party will come to an end this week, with founder Fiona Patten set to deregister the party and unveil a new political party to reach more voters.
Ms Patten, who founded the Sex Party in 2009, is set to launch the Reason party on Tuesday, in an effort to appeal to a broader base ahead of state and federal elections.

Back to politics, cycling and the sex party... I put up a piece on BNA about the announcement. At the time I was not aware of the link between The ex-Sex party and Reason.

Arh, so that's what is behind the upsurge in those flamin' knicks with a partially see though rear ends that I've spotted a few time lately. Available at you local sex shop rather than your LBS.outnabike wrote: The Australian Cyclists Party will contest the next Federal Election by supporting Reason.

Thanks Chris Your poetic license is much better than mine. That article is pretty good , I had not seen it. Good to refresh it here.AUbicycles wrote:I enhanced the thread title as it wasn't obvious what was changing... could have been a turtle coming out of hybination. The new title (sure you will agree) is pretty awesome.

Her view is in that site I quoted in my OP. Pretty standard stuff really.....
"Ms Patten, who was outside Flinders Street Station on Monday handing out how to vote cards on same sex marriage, said the Reason Party would continue to advocate for key Sex Party policies, including legalisation of illicit drugs and euthanasia laws.
She intends to be the "voice of reason" in politics today, she said, with the party putting personal freedom and respect for human rights at the centre of its political philosophy.
"People are sick of irrational politics. Many are deeply concerned about the future of our country," she said."

I'm not sure how you equated anything in this thread about what is taught or not taught in schools, except maybe a wish to push a personal agenda?CKinnard wrote:So hopefully kids will now get taught how to ride a bike at school, in addition to how to cross dress, masturbate, and role play having sex with either sex!

Well the Sex Party does support the Safe Schools Program so combining with the Cyclists' Party could indeed see an education policy consist with CKinnard's claim.grimbo wrote:I'm not sure how you equated anything in this thread about what is taught or not taught in schools, except maybe a wish to push a personal agenda?CKinnard wrote:So hopefully kids will now get taught how to ride a bike at school, in addition to how to cross dress, masturbate, and role play having sex with either sex!

But completely irrelevant to the thread and cycling. Sure, sometimes a political party's cycling policy will get mentioned on here, but that doesn't mean it's a free-for-all to start off-topic discussions on all of their other policies.biker jk wrote:Well the Sex Party does support the Safe Schools Program so combining with the Cyclists' Party could indeed see an education policy consist with CKinnard's claim.grimbo wrote:I'm not sure how you equated anything in this thread about what is taught or not taught in schools, except maybe a wish to push a personal agenda?CKinnard wrote:So hopefully kids will now get taught how to ride a bike at school, in addition to how to cross dress, masturbate, and role play having sex with either sex!

Fiona Patten: Sex party name served its purpose, now it's time for Reason
From a shortlist of about 40 potential names, including the New Democrats, Reason – a ‘movement for radical common sense’ – is the winner
Patten says there was a shortlist of about 40 names and the party spent precious funds on market research. The Tulip party was in the mix. Another was the New Democrats, which is about where the party sits ideologically – progressive on social issues and pro-business – much as the Australian Democrats positioned in themselves the 1980s.
They settled on the Reason party, now awaiting registration with the Australian Electoral Commission. On its website, Reason announces itself as a “movement for radical common sense”.

i.e.
The areas that voted most strongly against SSM were most heavily multi-cultural.
