Trek 7.3FX Mudguards/Fenders
Postby Grejoh » Tue Dec 10, 2013 11:47 am
Hey people, I am trying to source/find a set of mudguards for my Trek 7.3FX so I can become an All-weather commuter. I tried a set of Bontrager ones last night, and even though they said they would fit a 700x35 tyre, they didnt fit my 700x32 tyres! Seemed to clamp them and nothing I could adjust would get them off the tyre sidewalls! I also have a Topeak Super Tourist rack on the back, so that complicates things just a tiny bit. Should I try a set of the SKS Chromoplastic 700x28-37 Mudguard Set? Or are there other options for me? Any suggestions will be thoughtfully looked at!

SKS P45s are what you want. Had them on my Trek 7.5FX with 32mm Schwalbe Marathon Plus tyres and a Super Tourist Rack. No issues. P35s will be too small.

Ended up fitting a pair of Zefal Hybrid VTC 45mm and they did the job perfectly. Thanks for the advice. Now all I have to worry about is the rain from above me, and not below me!
