Emonda SL6 Derailer fell off

Postby chalk » Tue Dec 29, 2015 7:57 pm

so i was recently on a ride with some nice climbs
bike was changing gears fine all day up to 10K from finish. i went to go back to the big ring and it just ground away but didn't change
so i stopped to have a look an felt to see if it was loose. when i touched it, it just fell off

so have taken the bike in to LBS they said have never seen it before and that looks like it should be warranty
TREk is closed to 4th of Jan
so have to wait and see the outcome

So it was the front derailleur? Mech or electronic? Or was it the braze on derailleur mount?

It was where the front derailleur rivets onto the frame.
So trek fault

is it an electronic groupset (i.e. di2) or mechanical groupset?
I bought a trek frame 2nd hand and the braze on for the front derailleur came loose. Because I bought it 2nd hand, I had paint my bike fix it. I believe the reason it occurred was the braze on adapter wasn't secured well enough to support the extra forces exerted by the di2 front derailleur

But its a Different colour, the one i had was matte black where now its Gloss black with white Decals
which I'm really not too happy about

Looks like they've given you an SL 7 frameset. Same carbon, just different finish.
I overtook some people going uphill once.
