BNA Site Access Issues

Postby AUbicycles » Wed Aug 27, 2014 4:06 pm

Since Wednesday afternoon I have been trying to trackdown the cause of the slowness but it hasn't been resolved yet.

Any super technies out there who know all about live http headers as well has SSH and HTTPD - get in touch - info@bicycles.net.au

A very late night with any solution - to find that it fixed itself.
What was it - I believe an error with either the host and their server which wasn't serving. Potentially a latent 'process' however this should have been eliminated by restarts.

There are still issues - so do should if you are a tech expert.

Still experiencing problems - I have turned off CloudFlare (The CDN) which may be the cause and corrupting and slowing 'scripts'. The flip side is that it may cause bottlenecks when the traffic is high because content isn't cached.

Work in progress :(

It's working really well now for me at 8 on saturday evening, faster than it's been for a while in fact.

I couldn't log in because it said I had used all of my attempts. It said to write the code in the box, but there was no code. Funny, that.

Even I couldn't log in. I made a change to the CDN (which is meant to make everything faster) to bypass and prevent the stalling. It worked, except for the fact that it meant that the forum was no longer correctly configured. I logged everyone out (before noticing issues) and meant that many would have experienced this.

I apologise and am continuing to tropuble-shoot. Everything is fast again but just as on Thursday when the problem magically resolved itself - I still havn't pinpointed the cause and am now looking into Cloudflare who are actively supporting.

And once again, I thank the forum members who have been understanding. Lets gets a massive corporate sponsor onboard, get a massive server that will handle everything and everyones a winner!

And me. Only on Firefox tho'. Unterweb Exploder worked, ugh.

All fixed now.

I heard on the radio on Saturday that there were routing problems over a large swath of the internet - they made it sound like too many hosts for older routers :-). Haven't looked into it further to get a clearer picture though.

One possible cause was a new crawler (which indexed for search engines, but in this case a private social media tracking service) which was prolific in the logs and took a while to block.

Any chance this might have something to do with Tapatalk being a pain?

Tapatalk is always a pain, I have been waiting for weeks for them to get back so that I can run an update.
