Cycling Queensland - Spam email/Dropbox doing the rounds

Postby hosko » Mon Oct 12, 2015 2:58 pm

Afternoon

Received an email today from Cycling Queensland advising that a person at Cycling Queensland who does correspond with us normally has shared a file with you.

So this looked very suspicious and upon looking at the link it didn't point to Dropbox but the email does look legit.

Rang the person at Cycling Queensland who advised that their email had been hacked. To what extent CQ's email was hacked I am now not too sure
as there doesn't seem to be anything on the CQ Website or the CQ Facebook page.

I asked if CQ were going to disclose the depth of the breach via FB or on their website as being transparent I am afraid is better than hiding from these types of attacks.

At the time the person I spoke to didn't know if CQ was going to advise on the level of the breach.

So I will... don't click the link if you get the email.

Thanks for pointing this out Hosko.

I've copied this thread to the Qld sub forum for maximum reach.
