I'm on holidays in the gold cost next week, and they have a test the best demo day which I might go and have a gander at. My issue is that I am only looking at getting into entry level mountain bikes, and of course they have top of the line stuff.... So the wallet will probably hurt. But it might finally answer my hardtail vs dual issue.
Anyone been before and have any comments if it's worth turning up to (and having to earn brownie points with the missus and the family?)
Do I just bring my helmet and my shimano mtb clip in shoes?
Edit: and are there usually specials on other models if you buy on the day?

No idea on specials but I'd turn up with pedals shoes and helmet. It will definitely answer your questions on what a good bike is like. Worth doing just for your education on its own.
Highly recommended. Just tune out the sales BS and focus on the experience of riding the bikes. Get on as many different ones as you can.
