2015 SWorks Tarmac Disc

Postby TheWall » Sun Mar 27, 2016 7:32 pm

Hey All,

Whilst I love my 2013 Roubaix with about 20k on the odometer I think that I want something sportier as I find myself with a need for speed on some rides (all relative of course as a 41yo 96kg mamil![emoji4]) and my 10speed 50/34 is not quite cutting it.

So I was buying my sons 5th birthday bike and got was nosing around and I think I have fallen in love with this....

They are currently 'reduced from' $11990 to $9990 and a good contact can take off a chunk of that.

Any one got one...feedback...alternatives?

Matt

I doubt your Roubaix is slowing you down but if you must indulge you can't go wrong with an Sworks Tarmac. I have there non-disc model, it can't be faulted. I'm not sold on disc brakes for full road use yet, they can make a bit of noise which is fine for CX and MTB but unacceptable on a road bike. I also find the power to be a bit much for fast road descents. I have an Sworks Crux disc, I use it on the road sometimes and that's how o know I still prefer rim brakes for the roadie.

Go hydro road disc, you will never go back.

I'm waiting for Canyon aero road disc then I'll upgrade.

Congrats. You’re gonna love it.
I’ve had the non S-Works version with UDi2 and hydros since mid-2015.
I still love mine, and it’s not as good as yours.
So you’re gonna love yours even more!

Felt a bit emotional (Guilty [CRYING FACE]) this morning on the Roubaix...it has seen me through about 20000klm and the loss of 21kg. Will still keep and ride it especially on the wetter/rougher circuits I do...

2 rides down ...I think I am in love❤️.

Can't ride in the morning as wifee has a run organised so just may have to head out tomorrow night because I even think about waiting for Tuesday morning (Monday is impossible due to wk)!!!

Love the brakes as much as anything else...will never go back to rim...
