2013 Scott CR1 Comp Wheel upgrade
Postby Sniby » Sun Feb 16, 2014 9:18 pm
I'm new to the site so here goes.
I've got a Scott CR1 Comp with Syncros Race 28 Aero wheels, I'm pretty keen to upgrade but unsure how good these Syncros wheels are, like am I wasting my time if I get a set of Pro Lite Bracciano A42's for example.?
I'd like a wheel set that nice and aero and looks good but not full carbon/ tubular. I'm 82kg and just casual rider weekends etc no racing, average ride distance of 50 - 90 kms
Sounds like the Pro Lites are the pic of the bunch from earlier threads?
Looking at the Bracciano A42 or Dura Ace, I don't mind spending good money for good product but I guess no point wasting time and money on $1200 wheels if I can get something more suitable for my riding for lower price.
Cheers

I bought a Scott CR1 SL late last year. It came stock with Mavic Ksyrium SL wheels. I wanted something different and asked my LBS if they could find a set of Dura Ace 7800 wheels, and if they would swap them over. They did and they did at no extra cost. I'm more than happy with the wheels. But I'm not an experienced rider and wouldn't know the difference between similarly priced and type of wheels.

Anyone who'd like to back-order. Please send me:
1. Full name
2. Delivery address
3. Mobile phone number (or best number)
4. Email address
They'll be $599 delivered for anyone who puts a back-order in, we don't require a deposit but I do ask to be sure that you want them if you back order in as we only have a small team and we don't need any unnecessary work

Do your wheels come with a cassette? If so what type?

I stock 10sp Ultegra 6700 cassette's in 12-25 and 11-28 ratio which I can install for you, no problem.Sniby wrote:Hi Jacks1071

If you need something different as long as you arn't in a big hurry I can order it in, or you can post me one and I'll install it for you prior to sending your wheels. I only ask that if its a used cassette please degrease it first so it arrives here clean. I don't charge any labour for a cassette install.

Now I know the Ultegra is better then the Tiagra? I don't mind spending a little extra to get quality gear, do you recommend and other cassettes? Pretty keen to get something a little louder then what I've currently got.
Cheers

I run those Shimano wheels on my CR1 Pro and very happy with how they perform. I'm no cycling guru but to me they seem nice and sturdy, can take a few hits on rough roads and the hubs roll really well. The 35mm I find still good in the crosswinds (which was why I steered away from 50mm wheelsets).Sniby wrote:Ok so I've come across a set of Shimano WH-RS81 C35 700C 35mm clincher wheels, can anyone pass on any thought of feedback on these wheels, I'm narrowing down to either these wheels or the Pro Lite Bracciano A42.
Help?
Cheers
