With a name like that from Sram be sure to carry a fire extinguisher on your ride.

As reported in the related Velonews article recently, the fact that these leaks haven't been embargoed by SRAM closely parallels the pattern with their XX1 MTB group leaks a couple of years ago; while it still looks rough, it's close to production-ready, so will probably be on the market before the year is out.
I had a thought, but it got run over as it crossed my mind.

I think SRAM have been a bit slow with formal announcements this year, Rival22 was shown on at least 1 CX bike at SeaOtter two months ago now, but still not a peep from SRAM.

Still riding mechanical waiting for this to come out.

This will be the new revolution in electronic shifting. I could never understand why shimano uses wires with one big battery, with everything else (cycle computers) being wireless this is the obvious choice. I could of swallowed fibre optic, but wires, it was never going to be the longer term solution.

Having an identical battery on both deraileurs allows you to swap them if one goes flat. It may not let you change the front but as long as the back is powered you can get home.

Wireless opens up so many opportunities, just think, an automatic transmission that maintains a defined cadence talking to your cycle computer. You could do different training cycles, automatically. Without having to consciously watching your cadence. Automactically changing down as you slow down for traffic lights or to turn. Could even remember routes and shift gears for ascending and shift up for decending, all automaticaly.

This is the exciting future around the corner for bicycle shifting. :)
Can't wait!

I just really hope that some manufacturers offer a frameset that has no gear cable routing options at all, electronic/cable internal/external. Scrap it all, I'll be committed to this wireless stuff. Should save a good bit of weight not have to engineer the strength to support cables into the tube sections.

October next year I'm told...saving my pennies madly!
