Durace 900 11/32 rear cassette?

Hi guys,
I have been told by many bike shops that I can't fit an ultegra 6800 11/32 onto my 2015 giant TCR with durace 9000 and 11/28 without changing out the short cage derailleur? Despite all the YouTube videos saying different. Is there a Sydney bike shop/mechanic who may be able to help me out...?

The jockey wheel will apparently clear the 32, but if I was a mechanic I wouldn't do it either because either the chain is long enough to not explode cross chained big-big, or its too loose cross chained small-small and quite possibly not able to do either at the same time, so the end result is pretty much relying on the customer to never make mistakes, which is not how you stay in business.

What are you running on the front, compact, semi or standard crankset?

Supposedly from a quick google you can run a 11-32 on a compact on DA9000 with only an adjustment on the B Screw of the RD so long as you don't go big/big on the rings...I imagine a shop won't want to do this for you however as Shimano say you can't so if there is an issue they wont be able to push it through warranty.

I do recall all throughout the TDF the pundits stating what each rider was riding, and how they had to drop back to Ultegra RD's to allow for a 32-11 cassette on the bigger climbs...food for thought.

It's not the cage length, it's the main body that restricts clearance. Ultegra & 105 derailleurs have slightly different lower link geometry that kicks the derailleur lower as it swings inward to give extra clearance for big sprockets. Dura-Ace (please spell it properly!) lacks this funky design, so limits sprocket clearance.

Thanks for the info guys, and yes I have Dura-Ace 50/34 on the front so I should be able to do it myself with adj of the b screw, as long as I don't go big big on the rings.
