Yeah I'm looking for new places to ride so hoping some Vic's fill the thread. To kick it off.

Hmm ... you've already got me covered on both those. Lots of trails in the 'Nongs and the Donna dirt road is a favourite as well.

If you're after some dirt roads there are a few main sources I use:

- Dirty gran fondo, this year's 90km course is good and you can cut it anyway you like to get a few different distances. There is also a gembrook route up as well.
- Climbing cyclist
- Melbourne Gravel grinders

My faves are:
- Churchil to lysterfield - some nice climbs that are crazy steep in churchill and then some single track for good measure. https://www.strava.com/activities/319412903" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
- Dirty Dandenongs - although I do it differently so as to avoid big climbs haha. http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/732507981" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
- And then combine them to get churchill to lysterfield to mt dandy.

I'm still working through my list of dirt rides and haven't done dirty donna yet, maybe when the weather gets warmer. I found normal donna to be hard enough, but my fitness has improved a lot since then.

Bunyip State Park area is good.

Strzelecki Ranges / Grand Ridge Road area through West/South Gippy is also good.

Dirty Donna via the aquaduct trail followed by Acheron Way is a good 'un, though involves a fair bit of blacktop to get back to Warburton. Plenty of nice gravé around Kinglake as well. Check out Bald Spurr Rd if you like gradients

The Yarra singletrack is also fun when dry, and good for practicing skills.

I find in Vic some good roads are around and north of the Sugarloaf Reservoir eg. Skyline Rd, One Tree Hill Road, I`d show you some routes but I can`t access Strava in English at the moment and I don`t know what any of the buttons mean. You can cut across from Eltham on Gum Tree road (steep dirt) onto Mount Pleasant road, then Shorts Road (steep dirt) to tarmac Research Warrandyte road, Stony Creek Road, Floods Lane, Pigeon Bank Lane/Menzies Rd, to almost all dirt from now on Henley Rd, Skyline Rd, Muir Rd, Ridge Road, One Tree Hill Rd, Smiths Gully Rd, Spanish Gully Road, Clintons Rd, Broadacres Rd, Long Gully Rd, Lawrence Rd, Cracknells Rd goes through to Kings Rd via a public throughway, Dawsons Rd to Watery Gully Rd to Valley Rd any way you want. Then to Lorimer Rd, Orme Rd, Allandale Rd, there`s a bike path that goes to Parsons Rd and you can ride on the powerline reserve back to the starting place. You could also head along the Yarra Trail and the singletrack it has to the start if you want to extend it, there are plenty of other options futher north too, I usually do a big loop from Greensborough and am changing to a 26/36/48 with 11/36 cassette to cope with some of the gradients on this route. 34\36 low gear just doesn`t cut it.

Have been out to Gembrook a couple of times now and had a look around Bunyip/Kurth Kiln. A lot of tracks out there, took a wrong turn last time and ended up at Gladysdale, need to be well prepared out there no places to fill bidons. Nice riding area though, nothing ridiculously steep.
