Hey, newbie. I have the opportunity to purchase a 2010 model merida mens endurance. This bike is in mint condition with only 3 very small commute to football practice and back.
There selling it for $600.00 Is this a good price.

You need to do your homework. Merida have a whole range of Ride bikes. You need to find out what number it is, like Ride 88 or Ride 100 then look up something like Bicycle Exchange to see what it costs new for a 2015 or 16 model. Ebay completed sales will also show you what others have sold for. Gumtree is also worth searching for comparative prices. Another place to look is at Reid and Cell new bike prices to get an idea of what else you can get for the money.

I have done as much homework as per my experience on bikes and it appears to come up as a good deal. It was purchased for $1800. It is in mint condition. the person sellingis away on holidays. He cant recall the model number as it has sat in his shed for some time. I will go and check it out. My wife has a Merida ride lite and she loves it. And I like the style of bike.
Thanks
Trevor

Factor in replacement tires, tubes, brake pads and possibly drivetrain. It all adds up for a 5 year old bike whether it's been used much or not. I have a 2015 ride 5000, good bike for the price and compfy.
Aus motorists are safe to kill a cyclist at any time & confident that they will be protected from any serious penalties.

Thanks for the replies, I understand about the upgrades luckily I have a friend in the game that will help me with upgrades when then need arises. Just getting back into road after many years of mtb and I dont wish spending to much at the start.
Looking for comfort more than anything, at 6 ft 4 and 115kg fitting into gear can be annoying.
I will check it out on Monday.

Great news. If the plan is to not be 115kg for long, the new wheels should help you with that.
I am 6'4 and was 117k 18 months ago and yes the clothing was harder. The Specialized BibKnicks in XXL were the best for me
