Thanks for the links Aushiker.

I have just picked up a full collection of Revelate bags, including a medium Tangle bag so I can still use my frame bottle mounts though may need to buy side entry cages. For longer more remote rides I am considering adding cages to both forks and under the downtube using tape to protect the paint first and hose clamps to hold the cages. Is this the best way to do it or other options better?

Thanks - http://www.bedrockbags.com/shop/honaker-hydro-pack" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Given the following information on their site "Note! This product does not work with 26ers with suspension forks." I might be optomistic thinking I can attach anything under the downtube... Will have to trial a cage using hose clamps and see if it is possible on my bike which is a 26er with front suspension.

You could use this from Two Fish. I haven't tried it yet but think some doublesided tape could help if you can't tighten it enough with the velcro.

for forks without bottle bosses, this design seems to be a solid mounting option.
http://cleavelandmountaineering.blogspo ... -bags.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Mounts to most standard forks and suspension forks with the proper P Clamps.
The Everything Bag comes ready to go out of the box - no trips to the hardware store to make it fit.
P Clamps allow the bag to fit on almost any fork, I just need the fork leg diameter so I can send the right size. I also send M5 nylock nuts with the P Clamps so they stay on securely.

Not so sure about how quick and easy they would be to put on and take off.

I've seen rivnuts used on Surly forks to mount cages...

The single Twofish doesn't stay still but heard the double Velcro hold a bit better...

Never been keen on hose clamps on a bike.

Another alternative DMR Hinged clamp if 28.6mm, 34.9mm or 31.8mm are the right diameter

BNT Tourer from local fatbike company Muru looks a very impressive and reasonably priced titanium frame.

Those bloody drop bar angles look very uncomfortable for long range riding. They would be alright for tackling technical single track but I wouldnt want to be battling a strong headwind for a couple hours whilst trying to stop my hands sliding off. :?

Many people run their drop bars swung to deep IMHO.

Like this:

Image

I always use the lower run of the bars as a guide - it should be pointing towards the rear axle. This leaves the tops at a fairly level, near-horizontal alignment so that I am not continually sliding forwards on the bars. I want to be able to us the corner of the tops, or the hoods, as a I choose. Modern ergo-bend drops have this angled lower bend alignment built into the bars.

So I reckon those bars on the Moots are not too far off-line.

Yeah, like I said not too far off-line :P I'd swing the bars down 5-10 degrees

Hey, I wasn't looking to buy so I didn't even glance at the price :oops: Not given on that Moots website anyway.

Mine point to the top of the seat tube, most comfortable position for me by a long shot.

I run my drop bars parallel to the ground...bottom portion level...

It's all personal with no right or wrong...whatever gets you through the night...

I'm more of a mid way between level and pointing at the rear dropout user.

Err no, I didn't say that at all. sss perhaps!

However with the drops splayed this much I doubt you'd pull your hands off the ends of 'em.

The Muru BNT fork looks more like a flute than a bike part.
