Love mine, they are a great bit of kit.

Not so great for blustery days though, of which we get plenty of around Perth.

My first one I purchased I made a device that kept the brim from flipping up in high winds or fast down hills but on my second purchase Dabrim now make that device for that reason so I got it and would pay you to get it as well from memory $4-6 so well worth it. Also the brim is keeps your fly net of your face if touring allows you to get your hands under the bottom and eat keeping the mesh out of your food.

Rivendell Atlantis. These wouldn't come up for sale too often in Australia. Don't think I've ever seen one for sale in Adelaide before. Shame he couldn't include some decent photos.. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/elizabet ... 1110893782

Nice Bike Friday New World Tourist with a Rohloff going on Gumtree - I am so tempted at this as a proposition...but I am already very happy with the fleet and in reality i think it would get little use...that is unless it displaced the Vivente World Randonneur which is unlikely :?

Had a chat with Tony the seller and its done ~3000K's so just running in the gearhub...

Great review of the New World Tourist here...

The price is right - you would barely buy a hub for that money.

...and price has now dropped to $1790 - minus the case which sold separately...http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-view-detail ... 1117093185

Not a problem unless the you wanted to use the case as a case and trailer...our Bike Friday is transported in an old hard case we picked up at savers for $10.00! works a treat!

Still a BIG bargain...

He'd likely get more bites with a postage quote rather than a warning that shipping was likely to be expensive.

I would prefer pick up as the seller. Too many rorters and issues with paypal these days. And it's not much money to go to the effort of packing, quoting and posting once you take out 13% ebay/paypal fees.

In that case mightn't a local sale be better forthcoming advertising in Gumtree which I've a feeling is owned by eBay?
No fee's and pretty much sure to snare only locals.

Ah well, his feedbacks good :)

Hi all,

I've been looking at gumtree and ebay for about two months for a used Touring Bike, but no luck. Any other website suggestions people can recommend? Thanks!

I'm in Melbourne.

After my first touring bike. Trek 520, Fuji Touring, Surly, Kona Sutra, etc - just can't afford one off the rack.
