Just put her new bike together for Christmas, with review to follow. She is very attached to her current one though!AUbicycles wrote:Valleyforge, looks like the saddle needs to be raised for your daughter. It is probably new bike time, next size up for a more relaxed riding position.

On her second ride now up to 21km. Was a bit sad about giving up her Byk E350, but now can keep up with the older kids easily.
I swapped the SRAM trigger shifter off for a Shimano RevoShifter & RD. The trigger just is no go for girls with small hands - she was using two hands to shift! Now much happier and faster.

I have a friend with a spectrum child and the bike runs hot & cold, if it's any consolation. One week, they're belting off ahead of everyone, next week it's hate, hate, hate. But worth biding time for.rodneycc wrote:Better result than my daughter's reaction to her xmas bike. On presentation of her shiny new bike, the autistic girl of very few words shoves it back with the response "No bike". I've obviously gotta lot of work to do!

Nice, doing well. My daughter is a stubborn beast - she can coast feet up half way down the street, but insists she won't have the pedals reinstalled until she starts grade 1 - a few more week away. Missing out on lots of great summer riding opportunities...ValleyForge wrote:Christmas present Byk E450x8 - one excited girl!

Oh god, here I am nearly 2 years later and still refusing to try riding with pedals...MattyK wrote: Nice, doing well. Oh no!!! Is she still happy just coasting along, or is she just not interested in bikes at all?MattyK wrote: Oh god, here I am nearly 2 years later and still refusing to try riding with pedals...
I think I'd have to disown my kids if they decided they didn't want to ride bikes any more

My now 6 yo is getting around well still on the 16" Giant, long since discarded training wheels. Unfortunately problem for me is my now 3.5yo. Just will not touch the balance bike. Prefers to get around on a push car

She's OK with scooting, but it means we can't go for rides together, or run while the kids ride etc... #2 has followed suit and also won't try pedalling without training wheels...Mububban wrote: Oh no!!! Is she still happy just coasting along, or is she just not interested in bikes at all?
