A bit cheaper at PBK if you buy 2 get 10% off - use code CONTI. I think T7 still hits you for at least $10 freight whereas PBK has free freight if you spend $80 or more.

Was cheaper again at Ribble (around $37 ea) with the deal I posted a few days ago but that deal has finished

The Conti GPIIs were specifically excluded from the Ribble deal, which was a shame

"Continental GP4000S II
Only $47.99 each
Our 20% off Deal on Tyres may exclude the Continental GP4000s but that’s not to say we cannot offer you a Very Special Deal on one of our most popular tyres! RRP $83.99"

Ribble not a bargain yet again, how those guys have fallen. PBK have the Conti GP4K for $45.49 and you get an additional 10% off if you buy a pair and use the code CONTI at checkout http://www.probikekit.com.au/bicycle-ty ... 18169.html

I would think it would get the job done......but only a couple of times before you started running into issues. Would probably snap a few tools over time.

That's just an assumption though - not used it before.

had something similar when i first started. they were rubbish and not worth the hassle imo.
-The chain breaker handle snapped as i was changing a chain which meant i had to wait a few days to order a park tool one.
-the pedal wrench somehow bent
-tyre lever snapped in half

I have a different perspective - I bought one of these 2 or 3 years back.

I'm relatively new to cycling, so this has served me fine to do small and minor jobs. I also have had cheap bikes compared to others, so didn't need to buy a torque wrench until this year. I note there appears to be a much better holder for the allen keys (I've got larger ones now). Yes, it is cheap quality, but if you don't know what you need, this is fine. I didn't know what was a good brand or not before, and even now am not that sure. I think the trendy brand allen key set costs more than this whole toolkit.

I'm eyeing off the bike workstand? Would have thought 40 clams was cheap? Also eyeing off the bike to give it a go. And the WD40 lube and degreaser......

definitely grab the work stand

don't discuss chain lube here - it's like religion (but this is what i'm currently using - http://www.pushys.com.au/silca-nfs-pro- ... -lube.html)

the bike stand is not terrible, I've had no real issue with it building a few bikes in the last 12 months, but tbf i haven't really used a really nice work stand so i don't have a great deal to compare it with.

Thanks for the feedback, will skip the tools as I prefer a good set of tools and avoid the headache later on, I already have a basic allen key tool with chain breaker which serve me fine so far.

I am with Zippy7.
I got into road cycling about 3 years ago and bought this tool box. I still use tools from it (built my road bike from a frameset this year) and haven't found a need to use half of them yet. It's been good enough for me.

My Aldi observations;
If you want to equal the quality at another store .. pay about double the price.

If you want better quality then pay at least 3 times the price.

....
Just on the TV news .. being close to an Aldi store can increase the value of the property by $8k ... and 1 in 3 property buyers have the proximity to an Aldi store on their list of preferences.
