Hi, I'm looking to buy a front rack in the style of the one below, and was wondering if one of you fine folks could point me in the right direction?
Many thanks

Similar design to the velo orange, so you might have some luck searching under that name. Not going to be cheap though - excellent condition used sold on fleabay recently for $100
How about ?

"porteur rack" I believe is the loose term, though the styles & quality vary a little.
I was fascinated by them for a while, until I came to appreciate a lower centre of gravity when carrying loads. But if you've only got the one frame with limited mounting options.....

oh yeah.. Cetma made their name with this sort of thing originally, too.
At the time of my enquiring a few years back, I think Cheeky Monkey Transport in Sydney were bringing them the Cetmas in from the states for around $150. I think the AUD was more favourable against the USD then. Still a bit rich for what they are. I started musing about making something of my own out of a plastic bakers tray, sheet metal & tubing - which in true HappyHumber fashion - got lost under the weight of real life.

The importer of ortlieb Panniers in Melbourne (Allegro / Diggari) was, at one stage, importing 2 brands, one called Tubus. This style is not as common but you should still be able to get them - at minimum importing from overseas.
Cycling is in my BNA

Cetma are terrible. Tubus don't make front platform racks like that.
The VO one is flawed. The Soma is nicer and includes mounts for forks without eyelets. The pick is the civia though. Commuter can get them all in.
If you mount on a high trail bike though, it's flop city.

They were getting a lot of interest a while ago.
I saw them first in a forum with pics of Surly Ogres.
I'd be wary of alloy ones as you'll be bound to be tempted to overload it one day and........
Soma do a stainless steel one

as well as plain CrMo

A porteur rack may be a bit esoteric for shops over here so I imagine ebay will be your friend if you dont want to cough up postage from the US where the availability seems to be.
