Anyone else have this problem, bike's about 3 years old.
Not sure if I should fork $130 for a new shifter or get a new groupset
It looks broken, just like the one here... http://forums.bicycling.com/topic/54635607129792621" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

you can replace that part... however they are hard to come by, and the one i sourced cost an eye watering $50.
keep your eyes on ebay for a single or pair of shifters. they do pop up often... you can get a pair of used force shifters for around 150ish.
this is what it should look like. (left or right hand dependant)

Yes, exactly the same problem on my Apex RH Shifter. Replaced under warranty.kokoman wrote:Anyone else have this problem, bike's about 3 years old.

Whilst waiting for the replacement I bought a used pair of SRAM Rival shifters for $60.

I think the Rival shifters had an issue with this breaking a while back (2010ish) If you're in luck they'll warranty it, if not hopefully they'll have the parts left over from the Rival shifters to replace. Worst comes to worst you'll have to scouge eBay for a cheap set of shifters.
