Don't think this has been mentioned before.

Can anyone please tell me if you clear coat over the top of these?
How do the big manufacturers decal their bikes, are they like these and then clear coated over the lot or are they stenciled?

The FAQ on one of the sites linked above suggests it's not a good idea (can't remember which one sorry)thecaptn wrote:Can anyone please tell me if you clear coat over the top of these?

I'm guessing a lot still use waterslide decals under clear. I'm experimenting with it for my commuter build ATM. Not as easy as I recall from the old Airfix days.thecaptn wrote:Can anyone please tell me if you clear coat over the top of these?

...whatever the road rules, self-preservation is the absolute priority for a cyclist when mixing it with motorised traffic.

No it looks like a complicated process with plenty of scope for mishaps.
Did a quick search and found this:

I think large single colour decals such as "Colnago" logo along the length of a tube might be done using a stencil sticker?
Abit like this:
http://www.fastdecals.com/shop/archived ... s.com.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Maybe someone like paintmybike would sell them?
Love to hear about how you go,
Pete

There's a ton of options on eBay. Mine didn't adhere to the frame, but that could be down to me not cleaning residue off properly.
About to order some more soon

Have used them a couple of times for wheels decals.....highly recommend them for quality and before and aftersales service.
