Wheels
Postby Hootsmon0204 » Mon Aug 11, 2014 9:10 am
I've got a flat bar Felt SR71 which came with Shimano WH-R500 wheels as stock. I'm just wondering when these go (and it may be soon) what would be the best to replace them with. I'm 85kg with no intention of losing any and commute 28km a day on road. Quite a few potholes, bumps, glass etc. Currently using 23C Durano plus which I quite like. Happy for suggestions and prices please. I'm not going to win the tour so not interested in spending up big.
Cheers

I thought surface patch was determined by air pressure. Wider tires are generally run at slightly lower pressures.Derny Driver wrote:A 19mm tyre has a 24% smaller surface area than a 25mm, therefore is 24% less likely to hit a tack, or 24% more likely to miss potholes.

Can't go wrong with the Como's (or any Pro Lites), they are damn strong, spin forever, look good and inexpensive. Bombproof!!!jasonc wrote:pro-lite como or pro-lite garda (ha! i got in before deon). my comos have done over 22,000kms (and the freehub is now a bit stuffed)

I've been running open pro's for the last 4 years with no sign of any brake track wear in 8,000km.Drizt wrote:Open pros have soft braking surface and wear out in 6000kms. Avoid
