Bike 24 Despatch Times
Postby axeman74 » Thu Aug 28, 2014 8:58 am
I put in an order on the 21/8. All items on the order were supposedly in stock. Since then I have not heard anything about it. My CC had a pending charge for the order for 7 days, till this morning when the charge disappeared completely. Bike24 are not responding to emails (which is MO for them based on past experience).
There are items on the order I cannot seem to get elsewhere so don't really want to cancel, but 7+ days to despatch an in stock order is ridiculous.
So has Bike24's customer service gone from bad to worse recently? Any recent experience forumites care to share?
Thanks

Could be their usual form, or they could all be away getting their rocks off at Eurobike...

I have dealt with Bike24 plenty of times in the past so am used to their inconsistent (putting it nicely) customer service. If they are off at a trade show, at least post a message on your website saying "orders will be delayed"! Maybe I have become too accustomed to (mostly) prompt and reliable service from c r c and Wiggle.

It's difficult not to worry when you've handed CC details over to an OS retailer. If anything has gone awry your bank will cover you. I've not received goods and had my CC transaction intercepted by hackers due to online bike store's shite security. A quick call to the bank and sorted over the phone.

Similar experience, not much happening after initial order confirmation, however, after 16 days of mild finger crossing I had wheels!

Everything from painfully slow to blazingly quick - and we're talking big orders.
BUT they have never got an order wrong, and their packaging is far better than Wiggle or Ribble.

Anyone who knows me personally would tell you that it is highly unusual for me to be excited about money being taken OUT of my bank account!
Incidentally of the approx 10 large orders I have done with Bike24 in that past, it has always been Deutche DHL/Auspost that have been the bottlenecks. Hopefully this time its the other way round. Thanks for all the words of encouragement.
