So after a month of trying to beat a 2 minute kilometre on my flat bar road bike with a best time of 2 mins 11 seconds. I somehow have pulled out a 1 minute 56 seconds without even knowing until I checked my Garmin ride today (basically 30.4km/h average speed)
I don't even remember where I did it as I was just cruising home from the shops along the bike path with no hills to go down for that extra speed.
It certainly seems that consistency is the key rather than my previous efforts of trying to push as fast as I could go only to die in the a$$ halfway through.
Definately isnt the speeds that you guys are archieving, but for a flat bar roadie I was pretty chuffed with my efforts of knocking off 15 seconds off my best time.
Any suggestions as to what realistic time I should be setting to beat since I have finally reached my goal?
Makes me want to buy a road bike even more now for that extra bit of pace
Beat my target time without even knowing!
