Do I really need a custom bike?

Postby Mak70 » Wed Sep 10, 2014 8:53 am

I currently have a specialized amira 51.5 cm. it is a great bike but unfortunately not a good fit for me. I have had a Physio bike fit and we were not able to change it enough to be comfortable.

I am 163 cm tall. My inseam is 79.5 cm. I have short arms and stiffness in my neck and thoracic spine which makes fitting a challenge. I had a pre purchase fit done and the Physio was not able to recommend one stock bike that may suit me. He was very much in favour of going the custom frame option.

I really want to avoid this if at all possible.

My ideal on adjustable bike frame was - 155 mm cranks
Stack- 565. -570
Reach - 340-345

Any thoughts?? Other than flat bar bike or give up!!

Can't say. But what is you objection to a custom frame? Budget? A custom frame needn't cost you and arm and a leg. Talk to Hillman Cycles for example...
Ours is not to reason why...merely to point and giggle
