basket for drop bars

Postby mitchy_ » Thu Sep 11, 2014 7:07 pm

i'm looking for a basket, to fit between drop bars. the CX often gets run up to the shops, etc. and carrying a bag can be a pain.

ideally it would be removable, at least with minimum effort. i dont mind undoing a screw here and there, but i'd prefer not to run CX races with a basket up front.. as funny as it would be.

i've found the Sunlite mesh basket, which looks ideal... my only gripe is that postage is as much as the item... i'm hoping to find something similar locally/cheaper if possible.

It's likely to be be a very very obscure combination in order to work without some serious pfaffing around with clearances and cables and such. In all honesty, I think you'd be better invoking the 'N+1' clause and looking for a dedicated townie/shopper with upright or flat bars which are much more flexible. ;)

What about fitting it on the rear from the seatpost using a Klickfix seatpost extender? Will work with a range of Rixen & Kaul baskets.

I'm pretty sure Big W have baskets that just hang off the bars and should be narrow enough to fit between the drops.
