This is specifically about online bike shops, both local and overseas rather than local bike shops or preference for buying online of offline.
One option only to select your top favorite and the list is organised alphabetically. Some do have retail stores, the main thing is that they still have a full online service and seem to be somewhat well known (via past BNA surveys).
If a 'big player' is missing, simply comment - and by all means you can also discuss shops and reasons for your preference (or why a shop lost your top vote).

I also suggest Moruya Bicycles and Mountain Bikes Direct - both Oz players. It is probably needles to point out how hard it is to pick just one...
Ours is not to reason why...merely to point and giggle

A quick tally - only 26 votes from 192 views which is a miserable 13% participation rate. Glad no one is being elected!
As of now:
BikeBug - 23%
Bike 24 - 4%
c r c - 19%
Cycling Express - 4%
Pushys - 4%
TBSM - 4%
Wiggle - 42%
Early comments, very clear favorite is Wiggle, although c r c are matched closely in overall turnover (and were recently beaten by Wiggle as the number 1 online retailer). c r c are not very active in Australia with much less engagement.
Overseas - 61%
Local - 39%
Overseas bike stores currently dominate with 2/3 preferring these - but it is not total domination as 1/3 have voted for Australian retailers - where there is also a broader spread. Currently Bike Bug is leading, Bike Bug in North Sydney are one of the newer players while Cell Bikes and Torpedo7 are not yet represented despite their presence.
It suggest that it is early days, but also don't account for second, third choice, etc retailers.

Maybe those 26 keep coming back to see the results
Part of the results is that you have to pick the first choice - over the years I have purchased from Cell, Cycling Express, Torpedo 7, c r c, Bike 24, Jenson, SJS, and a couple of small British shops that happened to have some parts I was after.
Where I buy from depends on availability and pricing. Last year I would have put c r c at the top, but this year, at least for the bits I have been buying, they have been down on both pricing and availability.

I need to get a few more votes. Perhaps a general survey (external to the forum) is a better format.

Added my vote. I'd also give Slipstream Sports LLC in Colorado a recommendation too. Very easy to deal with and prompt responses to enquiries.

Perhaps that's because many viewers are using Tapatalk and don't actually see the poll panel.AUbicycles wrote:A quick tally - only 26 votes from 192 views which is a miserable 13% participation rate. Glad no one is being elected!

Tapatalk usage is fair, but still only a small percentage of visitors. That is because they all blame it on tapatalk!

And time for another roundup with 567 votes
A quick tally - only 26 votes from 192 views which is a miserable 13% participation rate. Glad no one is being elected!
As of now:
BikeBug - 16% (down)
Bike 24 - 2% (down)
c r c - 19% (stable)
Cycling Express - 2% (down)
Merlin - 2% (up)
Pushys - 3% (down)
Ribble - 7% (up)
TBSM - 4% (stable)
Wiggle - 40% (down)
Other - 2% (up)
Overseas - 72% (up)
Local - 23% (down)
Rest - 5%
Locally, Bike Bug still dominate and I am suprised that some others have no votes though may also suggest some limitations as we are voting on a sole retailer. But it does suggest that Bik Bug are doing a lot of things well. Wiggle remain dominent - and also are very visible in Australia (and regular advertiser on BNA as an example).
