Hoping someone can help me, at present on my bike (Hybrid Giant Cypress LX) it has a SRAM PG950, 11-34T, 9sp Cassette, plus Shimano M391, 26-36-48T Cranksett, and Shimano Acera real Derailleur. I am wanting to upgrade the front and rear Derailleur and the shifters. Can you please tell me if a Shimano Deore XT-RD M772 SGS long cage rear derailleur will work ok as well as Shimano Deore XT Dyns-Sys SL-M770 rapid fire shifters 3x9 speed....... If not could you please help me in what parts would be ok. Thankyou heaps. Tom
PS: if more info is needed, please ask.
thanks

You want non-Dyna-Sys shifters. "Dyna-Sys" is Shimano's term for the family of MTB 10-sp. stuff. They're not compatible with 9-sp. M770 3x9 shifters are not Dyna-Sys, M770-10 are, so just check that closely when purchasing.
I had a thought, but it got run over as it crossed my mind.

Whoever wrote those spec notes is misapplying the Dyna Sys tag. As mentioned previously, that only applies to 10-sp. components. Aside from that error, all specs there are in good order and will suit your planned upgrade.

Thats exactly what I thought it was the only add that had the DYNASyS tag inserted, every other add, for those model shifters had the same specs. with no dynasys.. thanks again for you r helpDuck! wrote:Whoever wrote those spec notes is misapplying the Dyna Sys tag.
