New Wheelset Recomendations
Postby jetglo » Mon Mar 16, 2015 8:03 am
Can anyone recommend me a new clincher wheelset.
I've got a budget of $1000
I'd like something a bit aero, lightweight, carbon/carbon alloy and good enough to race and train on.
Cheers

Campy Shamal Ultra
Fulcrum Racing 0
Shimano Dura Ace C24
or keep an eye out for the new lower profile Swiss Side Hadrons..
All good. Depends on what sales are on at the time for $$$.
Cheers.

If you work on Jas's theory you could possibly grab a set of Pro Lite Como's for training and a Set of Dura Ace C24's and just squeeze into $1k.

you may even be able to get C35s instead of C24srodneycc wrote:If you work on Jas's theory you could possibly grab a set of Pro Lite Como's for training and a Set of Dura Ace C24's and just squeeze into $1k.

I'd go with my theory:
shimano RS81 C35s - http://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/sp/road-t ... =Affiliate" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Pro-lite como/garda - http://www.pro-liteoz.com/store/product ... elset.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
edit: leaves you ~$100 for a spare cassette/tyres

Not a bad idea, I do however have some training wheels which work well I just want something to do a bit of both.jasonc wrote:I'd go with my theory:

I'll also chuck in a vote for Fulcrum Racing Zeros - they are fantastic wheels.

Do you find that they creak (generally the front wheel) when you're out of the saddle sprinting? My creaks a fair bit...macca33 wrote:I'll also chuck in a vote for Fulcrum Racing Zeros - they are fantastic wheels.
