54T is a very uncommon big ring size, usually offered as an aftermarket rather than OEM option. There isn't a 54T available for Ultegra cranks, but a Dura-Ace ring will fit - it'll just look a little untidy because its shaping doesn't match the Ultegra spider.
I had a thought, but it got run over as it crossed my mind.

It wasn't uncommon 30 odd years ago. Campagnolo Record derailleurs hated shifting into the 13 tooth sprocket so you had to resort to a 54x14

Rotor crank plus chain rings? It will have to be aftermarket. It is not a very desirable combo.

I'm just wondering why you need to go bigger than 53? A 53-11 is big enough for Marcel Kittel.

And Tony Martin uses a 58 on his TT bike http://www.bikeradar.com/au/road/gear/a ... -tt-38517/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

He uses that for a straight chainline on his tt bike whilst averaging 50 km/h. I'll be pretty surprised if ol mate is doing the sort of speeds where he'll be needing to chase the miniscule gains of a straight chainline.

It all depends on cadence though, i like mine so slow you need a time-lapse video to see the pedals moving, so 53-11 is only just enough. I'm guessing the OP is in the same boat.

I'm no gun, but that would not be the most efficient way to pedal. My point is the fastest riders in the world find 53-11 big enough. They will also have developed the most efficient cadence under the stress of competition.
I'm just being pedantic again/still
He might have a faired recumbent or some other work of the devil, I don't know.
