This might sound a bit odd, but what is the tallest (with the handle fully depressed) floor pump available?
I have Serfas TCPG pump which is believe I on the smaller side, and every so often I'll tweak the midsection of my back during the pumping motion, so ideally I'm looking for something that doesn't requite me to bend forward as much to compensate for the lack of height. Hopefully a taller pump will do the trick?

The Giant Control Tower series are on the tall side.
I had a thought, but it got run over as it crossed my mind.

Beat me to it. Or nail a bit of 4x2 to the base.kb wrote:Put the pump on a step?
Actually that's got me thinking, I tend to bend my knees when pumping in a bit of a squat but a block of convenient wood might reduce that. I'd have to make it removable though so the kids can pump easily enough.
Edit: need to rethink a bit, lifting the base higher will make it difficult to stand on to hold it down.

I'd have thought that similar to what you'd do when lifting a weight, when inflating a tyre it would be best to bend your knees on the downstroke and not your back. It works for me. One downside I can think of is that to the observer, this technique would look a little strange when done in a rapid manner.

I would also suggest an air compressor, a few centimeters wont make a big difference if your back just doesn't like the floorpump.

I've considered compressors, but are any good enough to inflate road bike tires? (e.g. 120psi)
I've looked at something like this which claims to, but since there's no battery included (add another $80) it does become a fairly expensive pump all things considered.
I'm guessing any of these compressors, will take a lot longer than a regular floor pump to get up to that pressure anyway? That doesn't bother me as long as it's not taking half an hour
